Wizz Air expects to carry 600,000 more passengers this year on Romanian route

Low-cost airline Wizz Air estimates the number of passengers transported to and from Romania will grow by 600,000 this year to reach 1 million passengers, the company told NewsIn.
Wizz Air is predicting an occupancy rate of 85% during the summer. Since entering the market four years ago, the company has transported 12 million passengers.
The company recently cut the ribbon on its second operational base in Romania, at the International Airport in Cluj-Napoca, Central Romania. The base will have 30 employees. The company now owns eight operational bases: in Cluj-Napoca, on the Baneasa airport in Bucharest, as well as in Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. It plans to set up a new operational base in Ukraine, in July.
The company target is to carry 300,000 passengers via the airport in Cluj-Napoca this year, according to the airline's operational manager, Luke Farajallah.
The company counts more than 100 routes to 51 destinations. Wizz Air uses a fleet of A320 Airbus aircrafts. It operates flights in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania.
Wizz Air entered the Romanian market in July 2006 and established its operational base in Bucharest in June 2007.
