Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz, one of the world's premier luxury car manufactures, is planning to open a Mercedes A Class car factory in Eastern Europe. Although the parent company Daimler AG has not yet released its decision on the location, a high-ranked manager with Mercedes told the weekly Automobilwoche that Romania is a top candidate.

The German carmaker plans to first complete the technical concept for the next A and B Class generation Mercedes within the first half of 2008. The target date for the first cars to roll off the assembly line is 2011.
