2008 to see prices of new apartments increase 30% in five Bucharest neighbourhoods

Prices for new apartments in Tineretului, Titan, Militari, Colentina and Berceni neighbourhoods in Bucharest could increase up to 30% this year, according to consultants from the real estate company EuroMetropola.

Prices for lodgings in Colentina stand around 1,400-1,800 Euros per square meter and could reach 1,800-2,500 Euros by the end of the year. The prices will also increase in Berceni from 1,300-1,400 Euros per square meter to 1,500-1,800 Euros, said Valeria Tudor, the company's representative.

New apartments' prices will also hike in Bucharest's North-western area, from 2,200-2,800 Euros per square meter, to over 3,000 Euros, the consultants added.

The prices are influenced by apartments' location, surface, as well as the quality of materials used for building the residential complex, representatives of EuroMetropola report.

Most of the new projects include commercial and entertainment areas, football and golf fields, swimming pool, playground, restaurants and coffee shops, which contribute to the upward price drive.
