Romanian unemployment falls to 4.1% in December 2007

The National Agency for Labour Force Occupancy (ANOFM) reports that unemployment has fallen to a record low of 4.1%. The number in unemployment fell by approximately 4,000 people to a total of 367,838. The unemployment rate dropped 0.1% between November and December 2007.
The lowest level of unemployment of 1.5% was seen in Ilfov County (Southern Romania). The highest jobless rate of 9.6% was registered in Vaslui County (Eastern Romania).
The jobless rate amongst men stood at 4.3% in December 2007. The unemployment rate amongst women fell 0.1% to 4%.
