All prices will go up in Romania following higher prices for gas and electricity, analyst deems

Romanian analyst Ilie Serbanescu deems that prices for all products will advance underpinned by higher prices for gas and electricity.

The power market regulator ANRE announced today that prices for gas delivered to the population will increase 12.5 percent and those for electricity will advance 4.4 percent starting with July 1.

The country will witness another hike in prices by the end of the year, Serbanescu deems. He also considers inflation will advance by 1.5 percent.

ANRE decided to hike prices for gas and electricity following higher costs for buying gas in January – June 2008 and to recover price differences registered in the same period, the market regulator said.
